Indoor plants die from light and watering, almost never from anything else. Offices in particular kill plants by placing them where there is not enough daylight and then over-watering them to compensate.
GardenPlus specifies interior planting by measuring the light in each position first, then choosing species that will actually hold their form there for years rather than looking good for one quarter.
For offices, hotels and showrooms, scheduled care is what protects the investment: watering to a measured routine, feeding, cleaning foliage, rotating stock and swapping out anything that has passed its best.
